We are recruiting for a Shift Manager to manage a team of warehouse staff and delivery drivers, maintaining inventory and supervising staff. The main duties of the role will involve;

  • Allocating staff to the warehouse tasks
  • Monitoring performance and H&S standards and ensuring all health and safety standards are met
  • day to day management of the team, dealing with any issues as and when they arise
  • Assisting with stock control and producing regular reports
  • Providing a detailed debrief at the end of each shift for management and customer service
  • Issuing and maintaining warehouse equipment
  • Processing and monitoring returns
  • Packing and repacking returned items
  • Coordinating new show room set ups
  • Preparing shipments for postage / deliveries
  • Checking and inspecting goods received, ensuring they are suitable for delivery
  • Recording the teams hours against the rota, ensuring all correct for payroll purposes
  • Supervising drivers, providing briefs and debriefs, inspecting vehicles at beginning and end of shift
  • Ensuring any accidents or incidents are fully recorded

We are looking for candidates who ideally have some previous experience managing / supervising a warehouse team, have knowledge of stock control and warehouse flow, who are confident communicators and have experience of dealing with issues (customer and team) in a proactive and professional manner, are team players, happy to lead whilst at the same time be part of the team, reliable and committed and flexible to cover a variety of shifts.

Please note this role is working 5 days a week (1 in 2 Saturdays) on a rotating shift pattern, working a 40 hour week, between the hours of 6am and 10pm, (shifts could be 6am -3pm, 7am-4pm or 1pm-10pm), there will be occasions when there is a need to work outside of these hours, therefore flexibility on working hours is vital.
